Join us on February 8th, 2020 at Docville Farm in St. Bernard Parish from 11am -3pm for the third annual Cook-Off for the Coast! Cook-Off for the Coast is a family friendly event with fun activities for kids and educational information for all ages about coastal restoration and how you can get involved. Local cook teams will battle in a wild game cooking competition featuring Louisiana’s wild bounty – free samples for attendees while supplies last! This year’s competition categories will include water (fish, shellfish, reptiles, etc.), air (duck, etc.), land (game, deer, wild boar, etc.), crowd favorite and a new student category. Live music by Louisiana’s Soul Creole — led by Grammy-nominated Cajun fiddler Louis Michot and zydeco accordionist Corey Ledet. Cash bar by Arabi’s favorite watering hole – Pirogue’s Whiskey Bayou. This year’s event will benefit the Chandeleur Sound Living Shoreline program, a partnership with Nunez Community College and Chalmette High School, which builds and installs oyster breakwaters along the Northern of edge of Comfort Island. The Cook-Off for the Coast is free and open to the public.
