Arabi Visual Arts Studio & Gallery will have an open house at their location in the St. Claude Arts Building on the St. Claude Arts Campus at 6737 St. Claude Avenue.
Meet the owner and international photographer Christopher Ryan and others exhibiting in the current exhibition "Violated Metropolis". This exhibition contains over 60 curated images from a group of international photographers who have a combined incredible list of credentials including MFA degrees, solo exhibitions at prestigious museums & galleries around the world, coveted residencies, and awards. The theme was built on the gallery owner's on-going series "Youth and Urban Decay" which features children, adolescents, and adults in abandoned structures around the world (approximately 15 different countries). The exhibition expands this theme to include other forms of urban exploration (UrBex), roof-topping, street photography, and blight.
Visitors will also be treated to one of the first looks at Vella Vetro Art Glass, which has been closed for several years. Arabi Visual Arts has taken over representation of this small, but stunning gallery with unique hand-sculpted glass in the same building.
This is an excellent opportunity to find out about upcoming exhibitions, drawing classes, modeling opportunities and to understand how our studio rentals and meeting space rentals work.
This event will be followed by a tour of Zeitgeist Theatre & the new Arts Park at 8:00 PM. Christopher's solo exhibition "Lord of the Flies - Thailand" is on exhibition in the lobby of Zeitgeist Theatre & Lounge. The evening will close with a screening of the original Lord of the Flies film as a tribute to their 60th anniversary this year! Usual admission prices will apply to the screening.
They are offering a 10% discount on any purchases in the Violated Metropolis exhibition, and an EXTRA 10% off any works in the exhibition by Christopher Ryan. All loose sleeved prints will be marked down to $20, and canvas prints (previously hung in exhibitions) marked down to only $30!.
