Event Description:
Members of the St. Bernard Parish School Board will be hosting the Grand Opening of the Maumus Center on January 15 at 7:00 P.M. Opening this spring to children of St. Bernard Parish, the Maumus Center will be a premier facility spotlighting the sciences and our community?s rich, diverse history. The center?s primary goal is to provide opportunities for lifelong learning for students and the community through interactive and multidisciplinary exhibits.
The main features of the new building include a state-of-the-art planetarium, beautifully restored theater, food science kitchen, and edible garden.
The Grand Opening will be an adults only, formal reception. Tickets are $50.00 and cocktail attire is requested. Tickets will be available starting January 4 at the St. Bernard Parish School Board Office.
